Concept

This PVD coating is based on the industry standard TiN that give the blade great surface hardness. This enables higher cutting rates and improved surface finish on the work piece.

  • Temp. of application: 500 degrees Celcius.
  • Friction coefficient: 0.65

Advantage

This is a multi-layer coating with a very low friction coefficient surface finish. This will increase cutting rates significantly. The greater surafce hardness makes it possible to work at much higher cutting rates than standard saw blades and also increases the number of cuts before regrinding.

Sportive

This is a multi-layer coating designed to cut the hardest materials 800N/mm2 and above, also very efficient when cutting abrasive materials like cast iron when there is a need to cut without coolants.

High Performance Special Coated Blades

Trends in today’s tube industry are directed towards more demanding standards, especially those in the processing of stainless steel tubes, more and more modern and fully automatic sawing machines are now being used.  For this reason, the cost of the saw blades is not the most important factor, but rather the cost per cut.  High production rates, long blade life, burr free cuts and the elimination of end finishing are now essential requirements.

Supatec saw blades are provided with staggered chip breaker grooves ground into blades periphery using a borazon grinding wheel.  This grind results on each pair of teeth breaking up the chip into four parts.  These small chips are easily washed away by the coolant stream or spray mist.

When choosing a multi layer coated sawblade there are many essential factors to consider to maximise the benefits of using this type of tool.  For instance, machine capabilities in 4 key-areas can effect efficiency:
Saw motor speed

     If the speed range available is to low, machine output will be reduced.
Insufficient motor power 
     If the torque range is inadequate it will lead to poor blade life.
Hydraulic power
     Insufficient clamping will cause blade damage.
Gear Box
     Backlash in the gear box will damage blades and reduce blade life.

To achieve the lowest costs per cut, all the above need to be considered.
